Ceremony for In-Service Nurses Enrolled in the BSc Nursing (Honours) with Swansea University

The National Institute of Health and Social Studies (NIHSS) hosted a formal ceremony to honour twenty in-service nurses who have enrolled in the BSc Nursing (Honours) Top-up programme, awarded by the Swansea University. The ceremony was held on Tuesday, 09th September, at the Sheikh Khalifa conference room.

During the ceremony, the twenty nurses, each representing diverse clinical backgrounds, were formally presented with their acceptance letters and airfare packages. This official presentation marked their successful admission into the programme and celebrated the beginning of their academic and professional journeys.

The event was graced by the presence of the Minister for Health, Mrs. Peggy Vidot, Public Health Commissioner Dr. Jude Gedeon, several other members of the Ministry of Health Management team and nursing leaders. These distinguished leaders took the opportunity to commend and acknowledge the nurses for their achievements as they embark on this significant stage of professional and academic advancement.

The BSc Nursing (Honours) Top-up programme is facilitated collaboratively with the UNICITI International Educational Hub in Mauritius and Swansea University in the United Kingdom. The remarkable opportunity for these nurses to advance their education is a direct result of the steadfast commitment demonstrated by Mr Ralph Didon, the Programme Coordinator for In-Service Training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through the effective networking with staff of UNICITI, supported by Mr Ebrahim M. Ali, Director (NIHSS). Their combined efforts were instrumental in ensuring that the programme was accessible to the in-service nurses, thereby fostering professional growth within the nursing community.
